Kirov Ballet Tours in Western Europe, Spring and Summer 2000

The Kirov Ballet has several engagements in Western Europe in the coming months.

The company will appear at the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, Germany (April 4-9, 2000). The program consists of the spectacular, lavish revival of Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty (1890) which was premiered at the Maryinsky Theater in April 1999 and presented at the Metropolitan in New York to much acclaim last Summer.

In the first week of May the Kirov Ballet will show its magnificent productions of Swan Lake and La Bayadère in Edinburgh, Scotland. More details about this tour will be available nearer to the time.

The ballet event of the Summer in Europe will, however, be the appearance of the Kirov at the new Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London. Two major engagements are scheduled, June 12-27, and July 31-August 19.
