The Kirov Ballet returns from Brazil on June 10, and, after the "White Nights Festival" in St. Petersburg, will leave for an 18-performance season in Graz, Austria, July 1–21.

The company immediately heads for Italy, to be in Genoa July 23-28. A full-company trip to the New York's Metropolitan Opera House is planned for 1999.

The Kirov opens at the Austrian "Bühnen Graz" theater complex in the "Oper" or "Opera House" on July 1 and will remain there through July 21. Days off will be July 2 (Tuesday) and July 8 and 15 (both Wednesdays).

Scheduled are 6 performances of The Sleeping Beauty, 6 of Swan Lake, 3 of La Bayadère, and 3 of a "Fokine Evening" (Chopiniana, Sheherazade, Prince Igor). Full details are available at the link below.

Talks for a 1998 London tour have broken off. There might be a small-group, privately-sponsored "Stars Tour" to Japan later this year.
